Han Shan Temple
- Built in 502-519 A.D. the temple enjoys high reputation both at home
and abroad, owing to the Tang Poem "Night Anchorage at Maple Bridge".
- on Dec.31, every year since 1979, CITS Suzhou Branch organized the
activity of "Listening to the Sounding of the Bell in Han San Temple on
the new Year's Eve", which has proved to be a great success and so far
received a total of 10,576 tourists from Japan, USA, Britain, etc.
Weat Garden Temple (500 Buddha Temple)
- Also named the Monastery of Disciplines and built in the Ming Dynasty
the temple is known for its 500 gilded Arhats, which are life-sized and
different in facial expressions and postures. 300-year-old huge turtles
can be found in the Life Liberation Pond of its west garden.

Museum of Suzhou History
- On show in the museum is a collection of local cultural relics from
the nealithic Age down to the modern times.
Suzhou Folk Custom Museum
- the museum consists of the Wedding Custom Hall, the Festival Custom
Hall and the Local Cuisine hall, vividly illustrating by its numerous
exhibits. Suzhou's unique customs formed through centuries of life.
Suzhou Theatrical Museum
- The museum sits on the site of "Quan Jin Huai Guan", a Qing-dynasty
guild-hall for folks from Shanxi province. Its ancient stage with
magnificent decoration captures the eyes of a lot of visitors.
China Suzhou Embroidery Art Museum
- The priceless pieces of Suzhou embroidery of both past and present
are on display here.
Suzhou Stelae Museum
- On display in the museum are over 2,000 pieces of stelae, among which
3 Song tablets, namely, a map of Suzhou, a constellation chart and a map
of China are rare treasures under national protection.
